Our base camp setting…
We come together at a place called The Spruce Knob Mountain Center, on an open mountaintop located in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest next to Spruce Knob, the highest peak in West Virginia. We sleep under the darkest skies in the Eastern US, which gives us an inspiring night sky to reflect upon each evening. The combination of breathtaking views and deep wilderness forest is an awe-inspiring mirror for our journey into the inner territory of our deeper being.
Much of our work happens within the varied, living landscape of this very dynamic ecosystem. It features impressive rock crags, expansive wildflower meadows, a secluded underworld of extensive cave systems, and the quiet solitude of verdant spruce forests. Indoor gatherings are held in large and beautifully handcrafted wooden yurts built by the reknowned Bill Coperthwaite.
Staying Close to Nature’s Bounty
We strongly encourage you to sleep close to the earth and use the primary option of camping. You can bring your own tenting gear, or you can also rent ours. We offer indoor dormitory style accommodations, at an extra fee, for those who have physical limitations. Due to the rustic and isolated natural setting, cell phone service is not available and external distractions are kept to a bare minimum.
Our meals are carefully prepared on site, and we are able to accommodate most dietary needs and restrictions. We want you to be adequately nourished and sustained physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.
