WORK WITH GROUP PROCESS, DEPTH FACILITATION, VITALIZING ENCOUNTERS & THE HERO’S JOURNEY® MYTH
We will use this one particular group week in the spring to bring together former, current and future group apprentices.
We will also bring along our awesome, longtime stewarding team from WV.
We will all go where we haven’t gone before – experiencing a fresh new way to experience one’s self coming alive within a group.
We will engage the best of what we’ve brought forth in the past in working with embodiment, aggression, tenderness, loss and eros, along with new material on shame, desire, longing and vitalizing engagements.
At the end of this unique and catalyzing week, participants will have the option to join a new two-week training year that starts in September 2024 and finishes in April 2025.

FRESH Group Facilitation content
This one-time workshop will blend fundamental group process skills, with a fresh synthesis of what Joseph Campbell called psycho-mythology:
A depth of psychological and emotional awareness, combined with interpersonal skills and artistic expression, woven through the hero’s journey myth.
We center our work around this primary, fundamental premise:
What can happen for each member of this particular group, in this particular group, at this particular time – that is unlikely to happen anywhere else?
In addition, there are very unique and particular facilitation styles to be cultivated in this type of group work:
- ENGAGE – Becoming a stabilizing as well as a disturbing force in interpersonal encounters.
- VITALIZE – Accompany, embody, experience and describe exactly what is happening in any given moment during a group process.
- TRANSFORM – Each member of the group training strives to become ‘a transformational vessel’ – an embodied ‘force of nature’.

Our new
Group Space
All of us at HJF are absolutely thrilled to be continuing and refining the very best of what we know about intensive group processes.
We are especially excited to be bringing this to our very new and very own Sanctuary space!
The Sanctuary’s main room will provide us with a rich variety of distinctive settings for our group processes.
The main group space offers quiet, privacy and spectacular views in the mornings and afternoons.
It also offers a particularly intimate setting for the evenings, allowing for more ritualized experiences and personal sharings.
We also have break-out areas for smaller group sharing, including CedarHeart Lodge – a beautiful stone-walled room with a fireplace, along with the Stone House Library for smaller group sharing.
